Uttarakhand : 44 officers replaced, DMs of 5 districts transferred

The Uttarakhand government on Sunday made a major administrative reshuffle, altering the responsibilities of 44 officials, including 23 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 18 Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers. The District Magistrates (DMs) of five districts were also replaced in this major reshuffle.

Changes in the responsibilities of key officials:

• Vandana has been stripped of her responsibilities as District Magistrate of Nainital and given the responsibility of Director General of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department and Additional Secretary in the Planning Department.
• Lalit Mohan Raiyal, the new District Magistrate of Nainital, who previously held the position of Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been relieved of this responsibility.
• Dr. Sandeep Tiwari, the former District Magistrate of Chamoli, has been appointed Director of Social Welfare in Haldwani.
• Alok Kumar Pandey, the former District Magistrate of Almora, has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Information Technology Department and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
• Vinod Goswami, the former District Magistrate of Pithoragarh, has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Urban Development Department.
• Akanksha Konde, who will be the new District Magistrate of Bageshwar, previously held the responsibility of Chief Development Officer of Haridwar.

Secretary Dilip Jawalkar has been relieved of his responsibilities as Rural Development Department, Rural Works Department, and Chief Project Director, Rural Development Committee – Rural Enterprise Acceleration Project (CPD-UGVS-REAP). He will continue to hold the responsibilities of Secretary, Finance, Elections, Water Resources, and Director, Audit.
