Jaunpur/Khetasarai: Railway gate damaged due to collision with pickup

According to gateman Shiv Kumar, the incident occurred around 12:37 pm on Friday. The Tapti Ganga Express (train number 19045), traveling from Surat to Gopalganj, Bihar, was passing through Jaunpur towards Shahganj. The pickup truck, coming from Didarganj towards Khetasarai market, rammed the gate’s eastern gate.

The collision severely damaged the gate. The station master was immediately informed of the incident, followed by the RPF at Shahganj. As a precaution, trains were safely routed using sliding booms to avoid traffic disruption.

The RPF has identified the pickup driver as Faizan, a resident of Majhaura in the Khetasarai police station area. RPF in-charge Sunil Diwakar stated that the driver has been taken into custody and a case has been registered against him, and necessary legal action is being taken.

Due to the gateman’s presence of mind and prompt information, a major railway accident was averted. Railway officials have immediately begun repairs to the damaged gate.
