Jaunpur: Chaos after death of eight-year-old boy

An eight-year-old boy died after being injected by a medical store owner in the Haiderpur market area of ​​the Teji Bazaar police station in Jaunpur on Thursday evening. Angered by the incident, the family members blocked the road by placing the body on the street.

Within a short time, the villagers gathered and vandalized the medical store. They also vandalized a car and two bikes parked behind the house, and entered the house and attempted to set it on fire.

The chaos continued for about an hour. However, the police somehow managed to take the body into custody and calm the protesters.

At 6 p.m., the family of Shiv Pujan Yadav, a resident of Haiderpur village, reached Haiderpur market after his son, Yug Yadav (8), complained of stomach pain.

According to his grandfather, Jai Prakash Yadav, the operator of Devi Medical Store administered the injection to Yug based on a phone conversation with a doctor.

Family members erupt in chaos

According to family members, Yug’s health deteriorated after receiving the injection. They rushed him to a private hospital in the district headquarters.

Seeing his critical condition, the doctor referred him to Varanasi. Yug died on the way. Upon learning of the incident, a crowd of family members and villagers gathered in the market. They placed the body and blocked the Baksa-Tejibazar Lohinda road.

Meanwhile, some angry villagers entered the medical store, vandalized it, and set fire to a car and two bikes parked behind it.

The agitated villagers also attempted to set the house on fire. The family members continued to protest, demanding action against the medical store operator.

Upon receiving the information, the station head arrived and, upon learning of the incident, called in ASP Rural Aatish Singh, CO Sadar Parmanand Kushwaha, CO Sadar Devesh Singh, along with forces from Badlapur, Baksha, Maharajganj, Sikrara, and Tejibazar police stations.

Fire department personnel were also called in as a precaution. Former MP Dhananjay Singh also arrived at the scene with his supporters. He pacified the protesters, after which the police were able to take custody of the body around 7:30 pm.
