Purvanchal University : Two girl students received international honour

These M.Sc. Biotechnology students received awards for their research on drug discovery related to COVID-19, tuberculosis, and cancer.

The honors were presented at the second international conference, Wellness Con 2025, held at the Hindu Institute of Medical Sciences.
Student Atifa Hafeez was awarded the first prize for her research and impressive oral presentation on drug discovery for serious diseases like COVID-19 and TB.
Shreya Singh received the second prize for her poster presentation on the role of the BCL-2 protein in cell death by necroptosis, based on cancer research and cell death mechanisms.
This achievement was achieved under the guidance of department faculty member Dr. Manish Kumar Gupta. Nine Padma Shri awardees were also present on this prestigious platform.
This success reflects the university’s high research standards and is a matter of pride for the entire region.
