Jaunpur: Free food grains will be distributed from October 10 to October 25

“The District Supply Officer has informed that the free distribution of food grains allocated for the month of October 2025 under the National Food Security Act, 2013, will be done between October 10, 2025, and October 25, 2025.”

The facility to obtain food grains under the One Nation One Ration Card will be available at all fair price shops in the district.

Under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana of the National Food Security Act, 2013, 14 kg of wheat and 21 kg of fortified rice (total 35 kg of food grains) will be distributed per card to Antyodaya card holders.

Free distribution of 2 kg of wheat per unit and 3 kg of fortified rice per unit (totaling 5 kg of food grains per unit) will be ensured to units linked to eligible household ration cards covered under the National Food Security Act, 2013.

Portability transactions will be available during the free distribution of food grains. Vendors will be able to conduct portability transactions up to the limit of their available stock. The last date for free distribution of wheat and rice under this scheme will be October 25, 2025.

On this day, distribution will be completed through mobile OTP verification for consumers who are unable to access essential commodities through Aadhaar authentication.

In this regard, all fair price vendors in the district are directed to ensure the free distribution of food grains to beneficiaries/ration card holders through the new e-weighing linked e-POS machines, in the presence of supervisory officers.

Also, information regarding the said scheme will be pasted at their fair price shops, so that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of getting food grains.
