A private bus traveling from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur suddenly caught fire on Tuesday afternoon. Around 16 passengers, including three children and four women, were burned in the accident.
The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital, while those with serious burns were referred to Jodhpur. According to information, approximately 10 to 12 people are feared to have been burned alive in the accident.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 3:30 pm near Thaiyat village on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway. The bus was carrying 57 passengers.
According to reports, the bus departed from Jaisalmer for Jodhpur at 3 pm as usual. After traveling approximately 20 kilometers, smoke suddenly began to rise from the rear of the bus. Before the driver or passengers could react, the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames.
As soon as the fire broke out, the bus erupted in screams and passengers broke the windows to jump out in a desperate attempt to save their lives.
Many passengers’ clothes and belongings were burned. Upon receiving the news, nearby villagers and passersby rushed to the scene and began rescue operations. The fire department and police were also informed.
Fire engines arrived at the scene shortly after, and after considerable effort, the fire was brought under control. According to police, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
It is initially believed that a short circuit in the bus’s engine or wiring may have caused the fire.
